Module 16 Info
The new nights away module is: M16 "Introduction to Residential Experiences."
This is suited to all leaders who will be involved in supporting their sections occasional residential event(s). This new module is designed to offer a 2 ½ hr training session.
The Scout Association has introduced new M38 "Skills for Residential Experiences" This is targetted at those running events like camps or cub weekends and can be used for Explorer Leaders who need to plan and manage a more 'adventurous' event for a unit. This is a weekend training event
(see attached replacement M16 requirements and validations)
You can find ALL the modules via the scout website;
http://www.scoutbase.org.uk/library/hqdocs/facts/pdfs/apf.pdf
There is no change within the parallel requirements for Nights Away Permit holders to manage any residential event.
Can you please make any of your leaders, who would be keen to complete the M16, aware that the requirements have been simplified.
It should be easier for Training Advisers to validate on the new M16 "Introduction to RE" module.
This change is with immediate effect.
