Daviot Campsite and Training Ground

Daviot campsite is the property of the Gordon District and is the only District owned campsite in the area. The campsite is located 350 metres north of the Daviot village and can be found at NJ747288 / OS Sheet: 38.

The site itself is set in 9 acres of rough woodland within a short drive of Bennachie. Site 1 at our Campsite, Daviot

The site features:

  • A main hall with electricity on a meter
  • A small room and basic kitchen through the main hall
  • 8 individual patrol camping sites each with a wooden dining shelter and fire pit
  • Running water to push-taps around the site
  • Outdoor toilets and a solid path around the patrol sites.
  • A large main campfire circle
  • 30m2 level training field
  • Treetrail including GPS routes (available from quartermaster(at)gordondistrictscouts.org.uk)

There are no organised activities on the site however there are pioneering poles for use by visiting groups, a sand pit which is in a position to easily build bridges over and lots of trees that are accessible for using as part of assault courses. There is plenty of timber on site for fires and fallen branches for bivvies and the likes.
