Network is the oldest section of the Scout Association covering 18-25 year olds. Gordon Network is ran by its members for its members, with a brand new flexible programme. You don't have to come along every week - but we have a programme available if you want! The focus of Network is on three main areas: community, international and adventure.

Keep in touch with us on Facebook and sign up for our emails.

Programme

Our new programme runs on a four week rotation; Week one we are socialising at Ma Cameron's famous pub quiz, catch up with your mates, meet new friends in relaxed atmosphere while testing your knowledge as a team. Week two we are Inverurie Scout Hut taking part in a more traditional Scout evening. Week three takes us out and about around the district or further a field. Week 4 is projects and awards night, we don't meet all together but meet in our own separate project groups.

On top of this weekly programme there is national events every year to attend. National Burns Supper in Feb, Hub Camp in March, Lochgoilhead activity training in March, Blair Atholl in summer, Dundee theme camp in October, 12 Pubs of Glasgow in December and Winter Ball in December.

Gordon Network also organises their own little camps at Daviot for our members to chill out at as well as being present at the Gordon Gathering and helping out at Explorer camps.

Awards

The final element of the Network Programme is awards. All of our members are encouraged to attempt some top awards. Starting with the Chief Scout Diamond award (which can be started in Explorers), then the Queen Scout award - which is highly regarded as the highest and most difficult award in Scouting. These sit along the Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

The Explorer Belt is the most challenging and exhilarating award which compromises a 10 days hike around another country completing challenges and learning about culture.

The Newest award is the Scouts of the World Award, which is ran by WOSM so is available across the world.

All of these awards can be worked on during our programmed award nights and bits of them can be ran as Network Projects. Our commissioner and the district team are available to support you through your awards.

On our digital platform we organise and advertise our projects and events. But we also gain digital badges! These can be worked on yourself or you can arrange an event for all of Network to have a got at!
