#YouShape Month 2018

Its back again for 2018 to build on the success of the past few years. 2018 will focus on forums for all sections. We want improve the quality and quantity of sectional Youth Shaped Scouting, through Patrol Leader's forums and Sixers meetings for instance, where young people get to express their ideas and gain more leadership opportunities. The district is running the 'wear their necker' experience again - see a young person take over from Keith and Stewart for a month!

The annual and highly prestigious Scottish Network Burns Supper is coming to Gordon Network!

District Advisory Group - GO!

Gordon District have started one their path to meaningful youth involvement by setting up their district advisory group.

International Camps Selection 2017

Application forms are attached for both next summer’s Scottish International Patrol Jamborette Blair Atholl (16-27th July 2018) and the 2019 World Jamboree (22nd July – 2nd August 2019) Anyone who’s eligible may apply to both events by completing both of the application forms, but due to our wish to give as many people as possible an international experience , they will only be chosen for one event. As places are limited at these events the District will be holding a joint selection camp on the 23rd to 24th September. Anyone applying to these events must be able to attend the selection camp.

There will be a First Aid course run for YLs on Sunday 4th March at Inverurie Scout Hut. It is an all day 6 hour course. As there are only 12 places, priority will be given to YLs who have already done other modules and particularly if this is the last module they require. Any spare spaces will be offered to adults at a later date.

The now annual District wide cub quiz is being held on Tuesday 13th March at Tullynessle Hall (nr Alford - AB33 8QN) for the Cub Section. The quiz will kick off at 7:00pm (arrive from 6:30pm) until 8:30pm with a short break in the middle to have some snacks.
