Terry - Stroke
Terry Will has recently had a stroke and is recovering in ARI at the moment.
Apparently it is not a severe one, however his left arm function and speech has been affected.
His last comment as his sister left him this morning was "make sure you call Mike to let him know I won't be at scouts tonight" so his humour is still there. Our wishes are with him for a quick and full recovery.
Camping Competition Success
The 2012 District camping competition for the scout sections was held at Daviot on 12th & 13th May with seven teams entered from throughout the District. We were lucky with the weather and managed to get all the tents up and down dry so that was a bonus for the troop leaders.
Autism Awareness
April was National. Autism Awareness month and it is being used locally to re-emphasise the support available from the national society, from Scouting, and available locally.
Challenge Hike Winners!
Well after a water logged day with only moments of sunshine it is safe to say everyone will be glad to be home and dried off!
The challenge hike was a success with lots of smiles and an amazingly high moral despite the weather and congratualtions go to all that took part in the event whether walking or giving up their day to help. Thanks also to Cheynes with the coach and the excellent bus driver.
Bear Hunt Regional Camp
Only two weeks to go until the Bear Hunt. The closing date for applications has been and gone. Foe those who have applied please remember that Region have agreed to pay for coaches to take you there, and back, sharing with ohers when you can. It all sounds great fun and a chance to meet the Bear.
